What is Software as a Service (SaaS)
Software as a Service (SaaS) is a way of provisioning a software application via your web browser.
SaaS is an example of "cloud computing".
Instead of a hefty one-off capital investment in licences, payment is typically via a monthly subscription which easily scales as your business grows.
Procuring and managing expensive server hardware is something you should no longer need to be doing. Instead, that is taken care of by the SaaS provider - Microsoft or Google, for example.
